“An Oasis” by Signe and Genna Grushovenko.

The La Quinta Art Celebration Returns Feb. 27-March 2

Painting is the expression of ideas and emotions in a two-dimensional visual language. Each artist develops their own unique style to achieve their vision.

The organizers of the La Quinta Art Celebration believe valley residents will enjoy a trip down memory lane with interpretations on the theme of water play. We thought it would be whimsical and fun to feature our backyard pools, which have brought us joy throughout the years.

Signe and Genna Grushovenko, from South Carolina, have been married since 1999 and have been collaborating in art for nearly as long. This couple has been popular with Celebration patrons and have been our featured poster artist in the past. This year, we are featuring their paintings about swimming pools—even the plastic round pools that many of us experienced as a child in the summer.

The featured poster artist for spring 2025 is Annie Flynn from St. Louis, a first-time artist at the La Quinta Art Celebration. Annie uses figures and light viewed through a waterscape for her swimming pool themes. They remind one of the Beach Boys and summer, and are perfect for a fresh and inspired home in the Coachella Valley.

Visit these artists and 186 others at the upcoming La Quinta Art Celebration from Feb. 27-March 2 at La Quinta Civic Center Park. For more information or to buy tickets, visit www.laquintaartcelebration.org. (Sponsored content)
