As you may have noticed, it has been a hot summer, but there is a place here in the valley where you can still be outside without feeling stuck in your air fryer. Whitewater Preserve, at 9160 Whitewater Canyon, has hiking trails, dunes and the Whitewater River. Because it has become so popular on summer weekends, The Wildlands Conservancy recently introduced a parking-pass reservation system to ensure that everyone can continue to access the preserve safely for some free outdoor recreation. Check the website to learn more about the preserve and make your weekend reservations (before 5 p.m. on the Wednesday prior); no reservations are required during the week.
