The Secrets We Keep

Coachella Valley Repertory, at 68510 East Palm Canyon Drive, in Cathedral City, presents a production of the play Other Desert Cities, Wednesdays through Sundays, until Sunday, May 4. The play, set here in the Coachella Valley, explores the emotional turmoil that unfolds when a family faces the possibility of a long-held secret being exposed. The story takes place during the Iraq War, and its themes—particularly clashes between liberal and conservative family members—feel quite relevant today. This dramedy blends humor and heartache as it examines loyalty, truth and the cost of keeping the peace. Tickets for opening night on Thursday, April 24, are $110 and include valet parking and a pre-show reception. Tickets for all other performances are $80 and can be purchased at cvrep.org. —Charles Drabkin
