Celebrate the latest release from one of the greatest nu metal and shoegaze bands ever. At 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, Idyllwild record store Midnite Moon, at 54225 N. Circle Drive, Unit 1, is hosting a listening party for the brand new Deftones album, private music. Midnite Moon is one of less than 100 record stores throughout the world to be hosting a listening party for this album, and the band has provided the store with tons of free swag and limited-edition vinyl! While the new sounds and heavy jams from the iconic band are already exciting, free Deftones merch makes things even better. Shirts and a test pressing of the record will be raffled off, and there will be laminates and door-hangers available on a first come, first served basis. The event is free to attend, but the free gifts require a purchase of the LP. For more information, visit www.instagram.com/_midnitemoon_. —Matt King
