Don’t Believe Online Rumors Without Evidence!
I keep hearing and reading rumors that One More Bite Dumpling House has abandoned its plans to open two locations in the Coachella Valley.
When I spoke to management in mid-July, I was told that construction is basically complete at both locations—73547 Highway 111, in Palm Desert, and 105 S. Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs—and they are waiting on permitting. If you can’t wait, they’re planning a soft opening at their Yucaipa location on Aug. 5.
Hopefully, by next month’s column, I’ll have news that at least one of the Coachella Valley locations has opened. In the meantime, watch www.instagram.com/onemorebite888 for updates.

Palm Springs is home to a new food truck festival on Saturday nights from 6 to 11 p.m. at Sunrise Park, at 480 S. Sunrise Way. The Wanderlust Food Truck Festival brought food trucks to the valley weekly in July and plans to continue year-round. Wanderlust has been successful around Southern California, so hopefully the community will support them. For more information, head to wanderlustevents.net.
Luchador Brewing Company has opened a tap room at 250 S. Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs. It is currently open Thursday through Sunday, with beverages only, although it will be offering “taqueria street food” soon. Learn more at www.luchadorbrew.com/palm-springs-ca.
A few storefronts away, at 262 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Nashville Country Kitchen and Bar has reopened after a false start, which the owner tells me was due to unpermitted construction by prior businesses. My first bites, about a week after they opened, were quite good, and I am looking forward to going back for the smoked meats that are only available at dinner. Koffi will be opening a sixth location in the Gelson’s shopping center in Rancho Mirage, at Bob Hope and Gerald Ford drives. Although the location is not yet listed on Koffi’s website, branded construction fencing is in place. Keep an eye on this space for more details.
Palm Springs Bottle Shop is consolidating its operations into the Market Market store at 1555 S. Palm Canyon Drive. This gem of a wine shop focuses on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC makers, offering wine, beer, spirits and a variety of snacks. Learn more at psbottleshop.com.
My current sandwich obsession—Les Filles Café and More, at 67730 E. Palm Canyon Drive, No. 103, in Cathedral City—is preparing to open a second location just off El Paseo in Palm Desert. The owners vow to offer the same food, with perhaps a slightly more “Palm Desert” feel; they tell me they are shooting for an October opening. They’re now also offering arancini, traditional Sicilian deep-fried rice balls stuffed with cheese or meat. Learn more at les-filles-cafe.com.
