Rat Pack Magic

Local audiences have watched Saigo grow from a prodigy with a love for Frank Sinatra into a polished young crooner with a voice seemingly from another era. Now 21, Saigo is preparing to leave for Japan to continue his education and his music career—but before he goes, he’s giving fans two final nights to catch him live at Cipolline Osteria, at 1260 S. Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs, at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5 and 12. What began as “Frank Sinatra Fridays” quickly turned into the full-fledged “Saigo Sings Show,” drawing locals and tourists who came away amazed at the depth and maturity of his stage presence. Saigo doesn’t just cover the Rat Pack sound; he inhabits it. The shows are free—and if you haven’t tried the cocktails and pasta ragu here, I highly recommend doing so.
