Celebration Day
The legendary rock ’n’ roll act may no longer be around, but you can still enjoy Led Zeppelin’s music live, thanks to acclaimed tribute band Zeppelin USA. While the Zeppelin USA performers eschew wigs and costumes, they focus their attention on the details of the music—re-creating the sounds of the British musical force to a tee. Meet Your New Best Friend
Since 2011, California Paws Rescue has facilitated thousands of pet adoptions. The group focuses specifically on finding bull terriers their “furever” homes, and last year alone, the group united 62 dogs with new families. Unfortunately, the shelter is currently full and is not accepting new rescues. Help them change this from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 9, when you can meet some of these adoptable dogs at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, at 42450 Bob Hope Drive, in Rancho Mirage. The Jewish Experience
Now in its 11th year, the Palm Springs Jewish Film Festival brings films that highlight the diversity of the Jewish experience to the Coachella Valley. The opening film on Sunday, March 10, is Rabbi on the Block, a feature-length documentary about Jews of color working to repair the relationship between the African-American and mainstream Jewish communities; this film is particularly relevant given the alarming rise in antisemitism in the United States. The festival takes place from Sunday, March 10, through Wednesday, March 13, at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, 2300 E. Baristo Road. Single tickets start at $12. Oscars for a Cause
Every year, a touch of Hollywood glamour can be found in Palm Springs at a special Academy Awards party! At 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 10, TRIO Restaurant, at 707 N. Palm Canyon Drive, is hosting the 12th annual “Hollywood’s Biggest Night” Oscar-watch party, benefitting local charity AAP-Food Samaritans. The event will feature an orange carpet, and your hosts for the evening are meteorologist and Eye on the Desert star Patrick Evans, and dynamic hostess and local celebrity Bella da Ball. The Very Model of a Modern … Retro Production of a Classic?

At 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, enjoy a night of opera with the Palm Springs Opera Guild’s “Winner’s Recital,” featuring soprano Krista Renée Pape, at the Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory, at 71100 Highway 111. In addition to her win in the Opera Guild’s Vocal Competition, Pape has been recognized by the Metropolitan Opera and the National Opera Association. The Friends of the Desert Mountains are celebrating both art and local wildlife at Desert Mountains Art Faire.
