
Peek Into Artistsโ Studios

Art-lovers hoping to get a look behind the curtain of the creative process can do so at the La Quinta Artists Open Studio Tours. Nearly 20 local artists are opening up their doors so the public can view their works and inquire about how art gets made. Old Town Artisan Studios, at 78046 Calle Barcelona, will be the hub for the event, and all ticket sales will benefit the nonprofit, which offers art classes to people of all ages. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16. Tickets are $10, and only available to purchase starting at 10 a.m. on the event days at Old Town Artisan Studios. Peek Into Someone Elseโs Gardens

The Desert Horticultural Society showcases beautiful, water-wise outdoor spaces in the Coachella Valley. You can explore intimate backyard gardens, as well as a new public space, during the Annual Garden Tour, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 16. Proceeds from the tour support the Mary Brent Wehrli Scholarship fund, for local graduates of College of the Desert who are going on to a four-year degree in any field benefiting the environment. Garden locations will be emailed on the morning of the tour, or you can head to Ruth Hardy Park (700 Tamarisk Road, Palm Springs), where volunteers will be stationed during the event. Celebrate Queer Artists

On Saturday, March 16, the Palm Springs Art Museum, 101 N. Museum Drive, is launching a new initiative, Q+ Art, showcasing the work of queer artists. Get Ready to Mosh

Touring musicians and local bands are teaming up for an evening at a relatively new music venue in Indio named The Rollup, at 45900 Commerce St. Alternative SoCal shoegaze rockers Ridgeway and Arizonaโs hardcore riff masters Bite the Hand willshare the stage with local dreamy funk from Burgundy Blues, guttural metalcore from Destroy Nothing and political punk from Bronca. Printing, Plants, Performances

Did you know a local T-shirt printing company hosts community events at their business in the heart of downtown Indio? The screen-printing maestro behind Blue Hill Studios, at 45130 Smurr St., will host an open-studio event where guests can view the shirt-making process; view previous works; meet local vendors like Return of the Goods, Taco Titan, Cool Cat Threads and Donโt Kill Me Plant Shop; and enjoy music from DJ DigThisss, Koka, Greasetrap and The Littlest Viking. Music at Sunnylands

Every Sunday in March, enjoy the public gardens at Sunnylands, at 37977 Bob Hope Drive, in Rancho Mirage, and enjoy its ongoing concert series, Music in the Gardens. At 11 a.m., Sunday, March 17, the performer will be The DoJoes, offering mix of folk, ragtime, blues, country, bluegrass and jam-band-style music. The following Sunday, March 24, again at 11 a.m., brings Nathan James and the Rhythm Scratchers, who combine elements of 1920s acoustic blues, amplified juke joint hill country, 1950s uptown blues and 1960s R&B. A Seattle Chef in Palm Springs

Aisha Ibrahim is the executive chef at legendary Seattle fine-dining restaurant Canlisโand sheโs one of Food & Wine magazineโs Best New Chefs of 2023. She will collaborate with Trioโs Jeremy Loomis on a three-course wine dinner at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 21, at Trio, 707 N. Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs. Scandalous Circus!

Interested in a circus sideshow striptease spectacular? Come on down to Revolution Stage Company, at 611 S. Palm Canyon Drive, in Palm Springs, for a production of Night of Joy that is not afraid to bare it all. The 75-minute performance promises to include circus, comedy, magic and burlesque. Not much information about the play can be found online, so youโll have to experience it to see what itโs all about.
