Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus’ 25th Season Continues With ‘Disney Pride in Concert’
The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus (PSGMC) continues its 25th season concert lineup with a nostalgic look into the World of Disney. Following a completely sold-out holiday show in December, PSGMC had auditions and now boasts 115 singers on its roster in one of the most talented and diverse freshman classes in the chorus’ 25-year history. PSGMC will present Disney Pride in Concert, from April 24-27. (Read the Independent‘s coverage of the concert here.)
PSGMC is honored and privileged to be the official gay men’s chorus of the city of Palm Springs and presents its stage concerts in the heart of the city at the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Annenberg Theater. Concerts do sell out, so it is recommended to buy your tickets early.
Disney Pride in Concert is one of those magical, once-in-a-lifetime events that stirs emotion for singers and audiences alike. The program contains music from Disney and Pixar movies old and new—from Pinocchio to Peter Pan to The Lion King to Toy Story and Mary Poppins; and modern Disney and Pixar movies like Coco and Zootopia. Audiences will also experience songs from favorite Disneyland rides like “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “It’s a Small World” and “The Tiki Room.” The arrangements by Chad Weirick of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus are beautifully written, and the visual elements, provided by Disney, are brilliantly married to the music.
