At 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, explore these themes from The Gilded Age through real history with “Gilded Age Secrets,” a lunchtime lecture by Brandeis University professor Maura Jane Farrelly, at the Mountain View Clubhouse’s Ventana Room, in Sun City Palm Desert, at 38180 Del Webb Blvd. Drawing from her award-winning book Compliments of Hamilton and Sargent: A Story of Mystery and Tragedy on the Gilded Age Frontier, Farrelly examines three real figures who fled East Coast society for Wyoming, hoping distance would bury scandal.
