
A Big Date for Dates

One of the valley’s most beloved establishments is celebrating a century of existence! At 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, Shields Date Garden, at 80225 Highway 111, in Indio, is celebrating 100 years of world-famous dates. Cabaret Christmas

Hooray for cabaret! At 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, cabaret performer and jazzy vocalist Jack Donahue will enchant audiences at Oscar’s Palm Springs, at 125 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way. Broadway songs, Christmas classics and other great tunes will be presented in elegant, charming styles thanks to Donahue’s vocal talent. Wind-Powered Holiday

Wacky Vinyl Extravaganza

Brian and Joanne O’Connell are figures in the Palm Springs volunteer community who help whenever they are able. They are also huge fans of vinyl. At 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 20, join them for Santa’s Holly Jolly Wacky Tacky Vinyl Listen-Along, an evening of offbeat holiday tunes in the upstairs VIP Lounge of the Palm Springs Cultural Center, at 2300 E. Baristo Road. This is your chance to bring LPs with your favorite quirky holiday tunes to share, while listening and learning about new ones. Rockabilly Legends

Rockabilly stars are descending upon the desert.
