The Muses & Patroness Circle, the women’s leadership council of McCallum Theatre, will celebrate its 35th anniversary with their always eagerly-awaited annual fundraiser on Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 5 to 9pm at the beautiful Vintage Club in Indian Wells.
This year’s theme is “How Sweet It Is: Celebrating 35 Years of Heart, Soul and Muses.” The event is being co-chaired by Diane Dykema and Rosalind Hack.
“How Sweet It Is” will be an evening of glamour that starts with a cocktail reception with DJ Modgirl spinning the hottest retro tunes, as well as a photo booth, delicious hors d’oeuvres and more. Following the reception, guests will move into the main ballroom at the Vintage Club to enjoy a sumptuous dinner, live auction and music and dancing by LA Party Dolls performing the tops hits of the ’60s girl groups and Motown eras including the greatest songs of Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Ronettes, Connie Francis, The Crystals, The Shirelles and more.
Single tickets are $450. Sponsorships are available for as little as $1,250 and come with an invitation to a very special Sponsor Party, on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the exquisite home of Silver Patroness Barbara Rogers and Gary Geske. Tickets and sponsorships are available by clicking here.
“This is going to be an event you will not want to miss,” said June Benson, president of The Muses & Patroness Circle. “We are going to celebrate eight of our founding members who are still active in the organization, which is beyond extraordinary. We are planning an amazing party with all proceeds going to support McCallum Theatre Education which serves many thousands of students and educators annually through innovative, life-changing in-person and virtual programming in theater, dance, music and visual arts at no cost to the students.”
“Over the years, we have raised over $8 million to support McCallum Theatre Education programs,” added Benson, “and The Muses & Patroness Circle has been instrumental in helping to forge lifelong friendships between women who genuinely care about providing exposure and immersion in the arts to young learners in the desert.”
“The Muses and Patroness Circle members have been a key partner with McCallum Theatre Education for decades now, and we honestly could not do what we do without them,” said Kajsa Thuresson-Frary, vice president, education. “Not only do they raise significant funds that go directly to support our programs, but they are bridge-builders and advocates and participate in meaningful ways. It is so important that we have people who witness first-hand and understand how the activities of McCallum Theatre Education affect students, parents and teachers in the Coachella Valley. We are so grateful that the proceeds from “How Sweet It Is” will allow us to continue to make a difference in young lives.”
