I don't always agree with Frank, but as a fellow hotelier, I greatly respect him. My hotel, Terra Cotta Inn has been open 19 years.

Frank has an excellent point, Palm Springs needs to market to people that will come here midweek or for a week or more, not just the Saturday night weekend getaway market.

I am a past president of the Palm Springs, Chamber of Commerce. I have constantly said we need to market to Canada, the Pacific Northwest, and the Midwest. Those people know if it's cloudy and cold in Chicago, it's sunny and warm in Palm Springs. Whereas if it's cloudy and cold at the beach, Southern Californians think that's the way the rest of the world is.

So don't ignore Frank. He has lots of good advice.
